Custom Woodworking

Wood Creations, Inc. is a small woodworking company that specializes in building custom furniture and cabinetry. Quality workmanship is an uncompromising standard that has been part of owner Dave Rioux’s business philosophy and practice for the past 35 years in the construction industry.

Wood Creations has evolved over the years from home framing construction, finish carpentry and remodeling in the early years; to building custom homes in the 1980’s and early 90’s. While furniture and cabinet making was a supplemental portion of the business throughout those years, today it is the primary business focus.

Dave was brought up in Massachusetts, where his father owned and operated a building and remodeling business. This led to his introduction to carpentry at a young age. Dave began working with his father full time in 1972, learning a trade that has given him a tremendous amount of enjoyment for the past 35 years. By 1975, commencing with his father’s retirement, Dave started his own building and remodeling company. Based on the old Yankee philosophy that "anything worth doing is worth doing right", Dave developed a reputation for designing and completing superior projects.

Moving to Florida In 1997, Dave and his wife settled in the Tampa area where he initially worked with a local stair builder who specialized in building custom curved staircases. This was a great experience which has led to today’s focus on building high quality furniture, cabinets and staircases. Creating beautiful and unique projects from wood has been his passion for over three decades.
